In Senegal Leumbeul is their version of mapouka or twerking. The name may be different, the basic moves remain the same. This dance cuts across a lot of countries in the continent.

In  Côte d’Ivoire, people call the dance Mapouka https://embozi.com/mapouka-the-dance-of-the-behind/ . The pelvic- and hip-isolated dancing style which is originally from Côte d’Ivoire has gone through some modifications over the years.
